Strophe 1
Been on the road with friends and buddies,
we'd just managed our wrotten truck to move again,
bound for San Diego we were on our way.
Our mood was good, the sun was shining,
and the overwhelming view of surging Pacific
made us embrace the world on that fantastic day.
Strophe 2
Goin' down south on the coast highway
we were playing our harpoons and guitars all time.
The breeze from Pacific cheered on our bongo play.
On the old Pacific Coast Highway
we were bawling when we came to Santa Barbara,
we laughed and howled a lot until we reached L.A..
Refrain
We were dancing in the moonlight by the shore.
My Baby told me that she loved me more and more.
I embraced her at that moment but I can't explain why
I then felt so strangely sad.
I divined I was losing you.
Till we arrived my fears came true.
But life goes on for me.
C'est la vie.
